The Scoop on VT: Apr. 2025

Thanks to PHANTOMk91's hard work, and those of you who donated your time and materials, the public stronghold at East 275 is looking spiffier than ever! The design features a large pale oak tree as the centerpiece, and a glass fog effect on the floor. Trophies were awarded to those who helped with this project!

The next step for the Nether tunnel extensions is underway! Please reference Duhbetter's post in #comps-and-events on Discord for directions and the schematic file. So far, the South and West tunnels have been completed all the way to 1880. Thank you to those who have donated their time and materials thus far! Trophies were awarded to material donators, and those who help with the dig and build will be getting one as well.

Duh is also hosting a giveaway for one collectible scoop per tunnel to those who help with the dig and build. Everyone who helps contribute will be entered in the drawing and four people will be selected to receive a collectible scoop.

The more you do, the better your chances of winning, so let's finish the remaining tunnels! See Duh's post in #comps-and-events for more details.

The theme for our long awaited April build comp is "Steampunk Ship," submissions are open through April 30th at midnight EST. You can find details for how to participate in the build comp's Discord channel. Those who participate will receive a trophy and the winning submission will be rebuilt at spawn, among other rewards as usual. We look forward to everyone's submissions!

Vanilla Tyme just celebrated its 8th birthday! Thank you to all of our members who have stuck with us and supported our server over the years. Staff continue to work on making Vanilla Tyme a wonderful and welcoming server for all. Players can participate in the birthday event through this Sunday the 27th to receive a trophy.

We'll be hosting a concert at the Parlour (130, -28) in game on this Saturday the 26th. Please keep an eye on #comps-and-events for an announcement in your local time as we approach the date! We will have performances from SadeMeyveSuyu and Duhbetter.

The Easter event for this year has concluded! We hope you had a hoppy Easter and got all of the treats you desired! Today was the deadline for egg builds and Easter Bunny trades. Give it a visit and go on a hunt for staff's eggs. We bet you won't spot them all!

Some more seasonal decorations have appeared at spawn! You can find bunnies, eggs, and streamers to help put a spring in your step.

The nether portal has also been completed, and is awaiting more details in the surrounding area. A small park area has also been added directly east of the spawn tower. Bring a friend and come have a seat! Further developments are planned for the area surrounding the post office. Stay tuned!

Duhbetter and saythename_SVT were recently promoted to the rank of Admin! The Vanilla Tyme staff team is now once again comprised entirely of admins and developers.

This month's Community Highlight is focused on LiveCircuit, whose base with amazingly oversized builds immediately caught our eye. The crimson and warped shrooms house farms and storage, and the large green tree with glowing berries is home to a resin farm.

The ocean monument has been completely renovated into a type of industrial district with a guardian farm at the center surrounded by various smaller farms such as cactus, bamboo, and nether greenery. A large pirate ship demands the player's attention as it stands tall and brooding just off the shore.
